This is a yummy blend of Chinese and Japanese green teas, combined with real apple pieces, calendula and sunflower petals, and spices such as cinnamon and cloves to give it the classic flavour of an apple strudel. Hoogly teas are inspired by the Nordic concept of hygge, a word which roughly translates as ‘cosy’, or warm and wholesome as an activity or way of living. Hoogly teas are all ethically sourced and packaged using fully biodegradable materials.
This tea is a light amber colour when brewed for about 3 minutes, and has a delightful aroma of apple and spices. You can taste the green tea but also the apple and spices, which is not too heavy but certainly gives the tea an unmistakably ‘strudel-y’ flavour. If you do ‘do’ hygge, (we certainly do!) then you could certainly have a very hyggeligt time with a cup of this tea, a good book and a rainy afternoon, maybe with a soft blanket and a few candles lit. This would be a great tea to enjoy after meals as a light alternative to dessert, or drink it any time of the day you feel like a sweet pick-me-up. Green tea does have some caffeine in it so this might be best drunk in the morning or early afternoon.
Good to know
Green tea is a rich source of antioxidants, including the organic compound EGCG, a polyphenol which is thought to help support healthy fat loss.
